Congratulations, you’re a winner!

Here’s why all those awards count.

Winning awards is great. Not just so you can puff up your chest, strut around like Mick Jagger without a mic, and let your mom bore her friends to death. Winning awards actually creates press, builds credibility and gives you the opportunity to assess your own work and challenge yourself.

Here’s proof.   LaGuardia Design just announced they won the American Society of Landscape Architecture Award. The Southampton Patch was the first publication to cover their win.

Landscape Details was a finalist in the second annual HC&G award for design innovation this year. Of course the magazine featured their work.

MagnaSocietyAwardAudi of Southampton won the prestigious MAGNA award, the only Audi Dealership on Long Island or in Manhattan to win, (and one of 14 dealerships state wide.) They sent an email blast to their clients reinforcing their commitment to service. Last year BMW of Southampton won Dan’s Best of the Best Award for best Auto Dealership on the South Fork. They used the claim in their advertising.

Southampton Hospital has won HealthGrades awards for patient safety more than once. And In 2007 the Breast Center was named A Breast Imaging Center of Excellence by the American College of Radiology.

Chef Todd Jacobs who owns Fresh Hamptons won Di Rona Award while at the American Hotel and has since been recognized by the James Beard Foundation.

GroupIn 2012 Group for the East End was awarded Civic People of the Year – by Suffolk Times and Outstanding Contribution to Long Island’s Environment Award by the  Long Island Pine Barrens Society.

Amy Willen Spiros and Chris Spiros

Our client, Amy Willen Spiros was just named woman of the year by Big Brothers and Big Sisters – an honor she squirmed through (she hates attention). It allowed her to shed light on a charity near and dear to her heart, and of course, made people feel great about the Advantage Group.

At, b+f we know we might not be in business without awards. Nine long years ago, when we had almost no clients, we entered the Best of Long Island Awards, an advertising and design competition. (We could barely afford the entry fees!) b+f came “out of no where” and won 14 awards. The New York Times wrote a story about us, which ultimately doubled our business. Uh huh, PR works (thanks, Steve Haweeli for helping us!) Since then we’ve won over 60 Hermes Awards and 62 MARCOM Awards, (International Creativity dans-botband Design Awards. The BOLI’S sadly went out of business.)

And now for even more shameless self promotion: We’re nominated for best marketing/advertising firm in the Hamptons.   Vote for us here
once a day!

Winning is everything. Thanks so much.
