We’ve gotten a lot of good news this week. Thanks to you we received thousands of votes and we are grateful to each and every one of you! We won Dan’s Best of the Best Marketing & Advertising Agency in the Hamptons. It’s nice to be popular. And it’s also great when our work gets noticed internationally.
We also found out this week that we won 16 Platinum and Gold MarCom Awards (plus five honorable mentions) for websites, print ads and logo designs.
What’s MarCom? An international creative competition that recognizes outstanding achievement by marketing and communications professionals. Winners range in size from individuals to Fortune 500 Companies. There were over 6500 entrants this year.
Why did we win?
We think we won for a few reasons:
1. Our clients let us take risks and do work that breaks out and gets noticed. That’s the kind of work that gets people’s attention, even judges. Our ad for MCC (see ad below) doesn’t look like a typical ad for a builder featuring a McMansion. Instead it uses emotion to pull the reader in. The Smart Sports Surfacing website has unique navigation and bold design.
2. Humor. Our radio campaign for SCNB (click here to listen) dishes up the bank’s success stories in a way that makes people enjoy what they’re being served. The website for Fresh Hamptons is fun and lives up to the restaurant’s name, and our print ad for BMW of Southampton (see ad below), entitled Go Topless, comes with a wink!
See each of these won Platinum awards below. Gold awards were received for Suffolk County National Bank print and radio ads, the Whitmores website, WPPB’s logo, Smart Sports Surfacing’s business card, an email blast for Audi, a print ad for Advantage Title and the East Coast Power & Gas website. Over the past eight years, blumenfeld + fleming has won seventy-nine Marcom Awards in total.
Winning isn’t everything. But it’s a lot of fun! It’s also very gratifying to win awards for work that’s winning business for our clients.
